Now published after six years of hard work

For over six years, an international team of scientists, medical professionals and specialists in the field of contaminated cabin air, led by Dr. Susan Michaelis (Head of Research in GCAQE) and Jonathan Burdon of the Melbourne Universiteit, worked on a Medical Protocol that can be used for the examination and treatment of crew members and passengers after exposure to contaminated cabin air (such as after Fume Events).g In May 2023, a peer reviewed article was published about this in the renowned scientific magazine Environmental Health.

The title of the article is: ‘Health consequences of exposure to aircraft contaminated air and fume events: a narrative review and medical protocol for the investigation of exposed aircrew and passengers’. Via this link you can read the article.

The actual Medical Protocol can be found in the sizeable annex,  which is accessible via this link.
